NYC Camp Women in Tech

We're Committed to Fostering Female Tech Leaders

NYC Camp is committed to fostering female technology leaders. This initiative strives to improve the gender balance in the open source community by providing opportunities for women and girls to engage and lead in the technology industry. NYC Camp is fortunate to have female leaders on our organizing team, and we benefit immensely from their contributions.

Last year at NYC Camp 2014, a key theme was female leadership in technology, and how we can all play a part in supporting women currently in technology and bring more women to the tech table. The afternoon keynote featured Atti Riazi, Chief Information Technology Officer, Assistant Secretary General Office of Information, at the United Nations. Robin Chase, Founder of Zipcar and Buzzcar was the evening keynote speaker. There was also a well attended panel discussion on gender and technology, with Holly Ross, Executive Director of the Drupal Association, and Angela Byron, Drupal Core maintainer and Director, Community Development.
