Sustainable Geekery: Maintaining your hardware, so your clothes aren’t hard to wear!
So many of us in the tech industry start out as lean, mean, coding/designing/project-management machines. Pouring endless hours of intelligence, passion, and work into our software, we forget to take care of our personal hardware, our bodies! Most of us end up with the dreaded “Druplicon” waistline, which takes a toll on our energy, our output, and ultimately our code.
In this session, we’ll go over a variety of quick, easy, and effective life hacks for some common health problems associated with sitting on your butt 14 hours a day.
Some topics we’ll cover:
· How to avoid the Drupalcon flu.
· How to not fall asleep during sprint planning.
· What is this standing/movement/stretching thing of which you speak?
· The food pyramid does not actually consist of pizza, caffeine, chocolate, and beer.
These simple techniques and choices will make you a better, happier, more productive geek! – naturally and sustainably.
